The Ultimate Chicken Suya Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

CHICKEN SUYA

 1 lb chicken thighs, thinly sliced (substitute tri-tip or top sirloin for beef suya)
1 tbsp olive oil
5 tbsp of suya pepper
Skewers (soaked for 4+ hours)
  • Soak skewers for at least 4 hours to prevent burning in the oven or on the grill
  • Rinse beef and pat dry with paper towels. Slice beef thinly, about ⅛ inch thick, and set aside
  • Put beef strips, olive oil and suya pepper into a bowl, and combine thoroughly until the beef is completely coated in seasoning. (If you can, marinate for 30 mins or longer)
  • Thread the beef onto skewers and place on a lined baking tray
  • To cook in the oven, broil on high for 5 mins on each side
  • To cook on the grill, place on the grill and flip often, basting lightly with olive oil, to prevent the beef from drying out
